In Rome, Codata identified 8 shopping streets linked to only 2 shopping centres as the layout of the old centre doesn't favour the creation of large commercial areas.

The main commercial axes in the centre of Rome are Via del Corso for mass-market retailers, Via Frattina and Via Dei Condotti for upmarket retailers and the shopping centre Stazione Termini.

In the suburbs, we registered 32 commercial areas to which many shopping centres are linked. For instance, the cluster Roma: Via delle Vigne Nuove (Auchan) with the shopping centre Porta di Roma (194 shops including OVS, Coin and Media World) and the cluster Roma: Via dell'Oceano Pacifico (Ipercoop) linked to the region’s largest shopping centre, Euroma Due (222 shops including Elena Mirò, Conbipel and Tezenis). There are also the shopping centres Leonardo (172 shops), Roma Est (211 shops) and La Romanina (80 shops).
