Retail has always been a driving force for the Roman city. Today the retail market is modern and dynamic, both in the centre and the suburbs of the city.

Codata identified 82 sites in the province of Rome. Commercial areas, shopping centres and shopping streets represent more than 4,500 shops in total.

In Rome, Codata identified 8 shopping streets linked to only 2 shopping centres as the layout of the old centre doesn't favour the creation of large commercial areas.
